We reported on synthesis and characterization of photorefractive materials, which have high refractive index and high diffraction efficiency for various photonic applications. The physical and holographic properties of photopolymer were controlled by the ratio of precursor triethoxysilylpropyl polyethyleneglycol carbamate (TSPEG) in a hybrid sol-gel binder and the content of monomer. The monomer was synthesized via nucleophilic substitution reaction of fluorene diphonol with an excess of 2-chloroethoxyethanol, followed by the reaction with acryloyl chloride. The structure of monomer was characterized by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra. Also, we measured the the photopolymerization properties of synthesized monomer by using the photo-DSC. Polymerized films have a very good chemical and mechanical resistance as well as a high thermal stability. Other properties for various photonic applications will be discussed. |
