Surfactants are widely used in many fields for separating and stabilizing. A lot of surfactants, especially, are included in liquid waste generated during decontamination or decommissioning of nuclear-related facilities and equipments. Thus, radioactive liquid wastes (RLWs) including surfactants need to be purified to discharge clean water. Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) is one of the surfactants widely used during the decontamination or decommissioning. Some environmental problem is remained for complete remove of SDBS from RLW including high concentration of SDBS, though SDBS from raw waste (1-3 mg/L) can be completely removed. SDBS can be removed from wastewaters by adsorption on adsorbents with high porosity. So we studied that ion exchange resins easily synthesized by dispersion polymerization, is able to remove SDBS effectively with batch system. In this study, we observed that SDBS was removed by adsoption on those resins from SDBS solution. |
