The potential problems caused by the liquid electrolytes, such as the leakage and volatilization of liquid, are considered as some of the critical reasons limiting the long-term performance and practicable use of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). By replacing the liquid electrolyte with a solid-state hole transporting material in DSSCs, dye desorption can be prevented, liquid leakage or evaporation cannot occur, and finally an all solid-state DSSC can be realized, which is easier to encapsulate and to series-connect. In this study, a carbazole-based oligomer was synthesized from N-(4-aminophenyl)carbazole and N-(2-ethylhexyloxylphenyl)-3,6-dibromocarbazole, and photovoltaic performance of solid-state DSSCs with the oligomer as a hole thansporting materials was examined. |
