제목 | Electroosmotic flow under time-periodic electric field in a T channel |
초록 | Electroosmotic flow is used in many micro-devices to realize the sample injection, hydrodynamic focusing, and mixing. For electroosmotic flow, the values and distributions of ζ-potential critically influence the flow behavior. In this work, we have investigated the flow behavior of electroosmotic flow under time-periodic electric field in a T channel. For the case of uniform ζ-potential, a close relationship was obtained between ζ-potential value and the amplitude of oscillating flow at T-junction. For the case of non-uniform ζ-potential, it was found that 3-D complex flow field can be obtained by using the patterned ζ-potential distribution at a wall. However, due to the limited range of parameter values used in this study, quantitative conclusion could not be drawn. Further detailed simulation is required to determine the optimal conditions of flow and geometrical parameters. |
