In this study, we report the synthesis of graphene/PE nanocomposites by in situ polymerization of metallocene adsorbed onto graphene and to achieve stable dispersion of grephene sheets into the polymer matrixs to yield enhanced polymer properties. In situ polymerization, where the polymer grows in the presence of the nanofiller, appears to be an attractive route for obtaining well-dipersed graphene/PE nanocomposites. We suggest that graphene can play a role not only as a support for adsorption, but also as an additional ligand to (n-BuCp)2ZrCl2 during ethylene polymerization. |
