제목 Optimizing the preparation of ion-imprinted chitosan fiber using Box-Behnken experimental design for selective recovery of Pd(II) from acidic solution
초록 In order to selectively recover Pd(II) from acidic multi-metal solution, a new chitosan-based adsorbent was synthesized with the ion-imprinting technique using Pd(II) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) as the template and two-step crosslinker, respectively. The selective adsorption of the ion-imprinted chitosan was greatly affected by the dosages of ECH used in the 1st and 2nd steps of crosslinking, and by the pH of the imprinting reaction medium. These factors were optimized through response surface methodology (RSM). A three-level factorial Box-Behnken design was performed, and a second-order polynomial model was successfully used to describe the effects of the 1st crosslinking ECH, imprinting pH, and the 2nd crosslinking ECH on the selectivity of Pd(II) sorption with the coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.996. The optimal conditions obtained from the RSM were 0.10 % (v/v) of the 1st crosslinking ECH, imprinting pH of 1.0, and 1.00 % of the 2nd crosslinking ECH. Therefore, this method suggested here is a useful modification tool for the development of highly selective adsorbent materials for the recovery of anionic precious metals.
