제목 Tunable plasmon coupling in particle-film systems for highly sensitive SERS sensors
초록 The interaction between localized surface plasmon (LSP) and propagating surface plasmon polariton (SPP) have attracted considerable interest in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor because the propagating SPP in metallic thin film can provide large field enhancement by modifying optical response of metal nanoparticles. Herein we introduce a plasmonic system based on Ag film over nanosphere (AgFON) substrates decorated with Au nanoparticles (AuNPs). Such particle on film structure support multiple field enhancements through gap plasmons by interparticle couplings and particle-film plasmons which contribute to the sensing capability of SERS chemical sensors. By controlling the size of nanospheres in the AgFON substrates, we also verified wavelength tunable SERS substrates. Finally, we demonstrate optimally designed SERS substrate based on AuNP-AgFON with 750 nm nanosphere which achieve 233 times stronger SERS enhancement than bare AgFON substrate.
