Triblock terpolymers, which consist of three kinds of distinct homo-polymers, are gaining wide attention recently as their complex nanostructures are potentially utilizable for various applications. For practical applications, morphological development in thin film structure is essential. Solvent vapor annealing is a simple and fast method, but the phase development mechanism is not well understood. In this work, we developed morphologies of PS-b-PI-b-PMMA triblock terpolymer in thin film using solvothermal annealing which is a combined method of solvent vapor annealing and thermal deswelling using temperature change of the thin film. The extent of swelling during the solvothermal annealing was monitored by measuring film thickness change by white light interferometry., We observed well-developed morphologies in a few hundred nm scale and the morphologies are investigated by transmission electron microscope and grazing incidence X-ray scattering. |
