There exist some limitations using Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in microfluidic channels : short-term deformation surface conditions and high pressure deformation. However, due to several advantages such as low cost, biocompatibility and gas permeability, PDMS has been the most common material for microfluidic use. Still, PDMS devices that perform microfluidic processes using organic solvents impose an important limitation known as swelling. Herein, we introduce Norland Optical Adhesive (NOA) as a replacement for PDMS for organic solvent-based operation. However, the low permeability of NOA to oxygen prevents NOA devices from applying microfluidic technology called static flow lithography (SFL). We present a method of manufacturing a NOA device for microfluidic processing through PDMS coating for SFL applications. The device extends the material selection of the microfluidic process with organic solvents and consequently increases the chemical diversity of the particles. |
