In this work, pitch coated solid amine adsorbents were obtained by dipping solid amine into pitch/THF solution, and the mixture was further activated at high temperatures. The adsorbents prepared in this study contain a large amount of basic amine groups and micropores which is optimal properties for adsorption of acid gases. Final products showed high adsorption capacities for CO2 and good regeneration properties at ambient temperature. Cyclic experiments from flue gas condition showed a multiple correlation between CO2 uptake and textural properties. It was shown that smaller pores contribute more to the measured amount of adsorbed CO2. Also, the amount of amine groups played a crucial role for interacting with CO2 because for their basic characteristics, which have a great affinity with acid gases. |
