Influence of additive on particle size and agglomeration of plate-like α-alumina nanopowder |
초록 |
Nano-size plate-like alumina is known to increase fracture strength and toughness more than the ball-like alumina grain in the preparation of composite materials. The samples were prepared by the sol-gel method. The samples were analyzed by XRD, FE-SEM and TEM. To control the particle size and agglomeration of α-alumina, various additives, such as poly vinyl pyrrolidone, iso phthalic acid, oleic acid and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, were used. The concentration of additive was ranged from 0.3 to 5.0 wt%. AlF3 is also added in order to induce plate-like phase of α-alumina. It was found that the chemical structure and concentration of additive affect the particle size and agglomeration of α-alumina. |
