제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of Polyimide Containing Benzimidazole |
초록 | The polymer membrane most widely used in polymer electrolyte membranes fuel cells (PEMFC) is the perfluorosulfonated membrane Nafion®. But Nafion® and other perfluorinated membranes used, do not allow to work at moderately high temperatures because they dehydrate and their conductivity is practically lost. To solve this problem many different types of alternative high-temperature polymer electrolyte membranes have been studied. One of the most promising is acid-doped polybenzimidazole (PBI). In this work, the synthesis of new benzimidazole diamine(DABI) with a two-step procedure was completed to make a polyimide. The characteristics of polyimide electrolyte membranes doped with H3PO4 containing benzimidazole(DABI) in the structural repeat unit have been investigated as a function of the temperature, the PMo12 and the molar composition of H3PO4. The result of ODA-DABI-ODPA co-poly-imidazation was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). We also investigated thermal stability using TGA. The morphology of membranes was observed by XRD and the calorimetric measurements for the new polyimide membrane. The variation of the conductivity with the temperature and the acid content was analysed with Impedence Analyzer. We showed that the conductivity was relative to the H3PO4 content and the HPA(PMo12) was not good for conductivity but good for heat resistance at no acid doped membrane.
