Azidohexyl Glycidyl Ether: A Versatile Epoxide Monomer for the Synthesis of Functional Polyethers |
초록 |
Postpolymerization modification (PPM) is a powerful method to modify functional groups in polymer chain. We developed azide-functional epoxide monomer followed by anionic ring-opening polymerization leads to a versatile PEO-based functional polymers with functional azide side chains. Azide-functional homopolymers with azide group on their side chain offer a unique handle that is amenable to conjugation with functional alkynes via copper(1)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) as well as direct Staudinger reduction. This strategy allows the anionic polymerization of incompatible functional monomers bearing amines, carboxylic acids and alcohols that are not obtainable by direct polymerization. |
