In this study, self-assembly behaviors of functionalized alkane molecules on CVD-graphene were investigated by using scanning tunneling microscopy(STM) at molecular level. Especially, self-assembly behaviors on steps, holes, and defects in CVD graphene were studied. For example, alkane molecules form the continuous self-assemblies even on step and hole defects due to flexible nature and strong van der Waals contact between molecules and graphene. Understanding these behaviors holds potential for graphene applications such as graphene based gas barrier, transistors, and sensors. |
