Studying the Surface Properties of Mono-dispersed Amphiphilic Gold Nanoparticles via electrostatic titrations |

We investigate the ratio of hydrophobic and hydrophilic ligands on the mono-dispersed amphiphilic AuNP surface depending on the length of hydrophobic ligands and the charges of hydrophilic ligands. The mono-dispersed amphiphilic AuNPs were confirmed by TEM, DLS and UV-vis spectroscopy. Since the ratio of hydrophobic and hydrophilic ligands used in order to create amphiphilic AuNPs was different from that of hydrophobic and hydrophilic ligands attached to the AuNP surface, electrostatic titrations of amphiphilic AuNPs with opposite charged surfactant were used independently to determine the ratio of hydrophobic and hydrophilic ligands on the AuNP surface. |
