Nanoparticles based drug delivery system offers tremendous scope for future and, combinations of different nanostructure can solve several limitation of conventional drug delivery system. In this work, we describe the development of nanoparticles for active cancer-target imaging guided drug delivery based on Pluronic fluorescence nanoparticles (FNP-Plu) surface decorated tumor target ligand folic acid (FA) and hydrophobic drug doxorubicin (DOX) [FNP-Plu-FA-DOX]. The structural linkage involved an acid liable bridge to readily release DOX from the surface of FNP-Plu that controlled release of drug at the site of overexpressed folate receptors (FR). A donor acceptor fluorescence model between FNP-Plu and DOX demonstrated dissociation of DOX fluorescence in response to acidic stimulus. Our described delivery platform demonstrated the selectivity and sensitivity of molecular targets, thereby able to maximize the therapeutic efficiency. |
