제목 Effect of electrochemical oxidation on surface and mechanical properties of surface-anodized carbon fibers
초록 We studied the effects of various surface oxidation treatments of carbon fibers on interfacial adhesion in the composites. Electrochemical oxidation treatment is the most effective technique with utility values among various treatment methods. In this work, carbon fibers were oxidized with various conditions in ammonium salt solutions to improve interfacial bonding strength with epoxy matrix. The surface characteristics of the carbon fibers were observed by FT-IR, XPS, AFM, SEM and contact angle. The interfacial shear strengths (IFSS) in epoxy matrix were measured by means of single-fiber micro-bond test. As a result, each oxidation treatments of carbon fibers led to the improvement of the mechanical interfacial properties of the composites.
