제목 In situ TEM observation of PM combustion over Ag and alkali carbonate catalysts
초록 Catalytic combustion of PM (diesel particulate matter) occurs under solid-solid-gas triphasic conditions. The reaction rate is determined not only by the intrinsic activity of the catalyst but also by physical contact conditions. We have long focused on the alkali metal regarding PM combustion. We also have adopted an aluminosilicate zeolite as the support of alkali metal. When zeolite is used, its negatively charged framework attracts positive cations on the surface and stabilizes them against hydration. After sintering of the alkali metal supported zeolite at high temperatures over 800 °C, phase transition took place to form nepheline, showing much higher catalytic activity for PM combustion under the loose contact conditions and a better stability against water treatment. In this work, the catalytic performances of supported silver and alkali metal catalysts are observed directly under the reaction conditions using in situ TEM analysis, and the differences are summarized.
