제목 Effect of CNT functionality on salt rejection of membrane for desalination and expected potential of CNT increasing water flux
초록 CNTs were functionalized in different condition with strong acid and polyamide reverse osmosis (RO) membrane was prepared by interfacial polymerization with/without pristine/functionalized CNT (PA membrane/PA-CNT membrane). Interface interaction forces between polyamide and CNT were measured and correlation between salt rejection values and the interaction forces were studied. Moreover, the PA-CNT membranes exhibited increased water flux compared with polyamide membrane without CNT (PA membrane) maintaining salt rejection. The high flux of PA-CNT membranes was ascribed to the hydrophobic nano-channel of CNT and increase of mechanical properties of the membranes.
