Interfacial and Mechanical Properties of MGF Reinforced Mo-DCPD Composites with Norbordene Silane Treatment |

DCPD materials had high degree of polymerization and cross-linking density condition. Chemical condition of DCPD has much more C-C connections than other polymers. Therefore the interface between DCPD and the reinforcing fiber can be weak condition. This investigation is to improve interfacial property of milled glass fiber(MGF) and DCPD condition with silane treatment. Optimum treatment for DCPD polymer was to select norbordene silane. Because norbordene chemical structure was similar to DCPD case. Tensile and flexural properties of MGF/DCPD composites increased with norbordene silane treatment. However, impact strength of MGF/DCPD decreased. Because modulus was generally disproportional to the impact property. Finally, norbordene silane treatment changed interfacial property between fiber and matrix positively.
