Multi-array Color Sensor Based on self-assembled nanostructure M13 Bacteriophage for Salmonella Detection |

Recently, Foodborne pathogens are one of the main concerns in public health, which can have a serious impact on community health and health care systems. The detection of salmonella is based on traditional microbiological culture methods that is not suitable for testing a large number of samples. We present a low cost, easy to fabricate bio-sensor, which can quickly and accurately detect Salmonella. Our bio-sensor detects Salmonella using a Nano-structured color film based on M13 bacteriophage. Through this study, we obtained sensor results for Butanol, DMDS, ethanol, which are Salmonella specific target components and suggested that the M13 bacteriophage-based multi-array sensor system was able to detect very small amounts of Salmonella. Based on this, it is expected that this biosensor can be applied to real life such as environmental and health monitoring. |
