Because of rapidly growing concerns to environmental pollution, eco-friendly polymers have attracted great attention with expertise in diverse areas. Among the biomass-based polymers, cellulose, the major constituent of the cell wall of plants, is the most abundant natural polymer on earth. In this study, to expand the application of cellulose, we have manufactured a series of cellulose-based nanocomposite films containing different MWCNT contents by casting cellulose/MWCNT/DMAc/LiCl solutions. The microstructure, morphological features, thermal stability, and electrical resistivity of the nanocomposite films with different MWNT contents of 0.5~10.0 wt% were characterized by using XRD, SEM, TGA, and multi-ohmmeter, respectively. In addition, we have demonstrated the potential applications of the cellulose/MWCNT nanocomposite films as electric heating elements by evaluating their performance in aspects of temperature response rapidity and efficiency at different applied voltages. |
