Cleavable block copolymers, sensitive to physical stimuli, have emerged as promising materials for the triggered delivery of therapeutic agents at the specific site of interest. In this study, we have synthesized acid-labile PEG-PBLG block copolymers via a ring opening polymerization of benzyl glutamate NCA using acid-labile PEG macro initiator. The copolymers were characterized using various instruments such as 1H NMR, gel permeation chromatography, and dynamic light scattering. Doxorubicin was encapsulated into the nanoparticles with high drug loading efficiency. The drug was released from nanoparticles in a sustained manner at pH 7.4, whereas its release rate significantly increased at pH 5.0, similar to the endosomal environment. |
