Preparation of Nanocomposite of ZnO nanoparticle, with PEO -b- PS |

We have successfully synthesized poly(ethylene oxide) -b- poly(styrene) via transformation reaction from anionic to atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) and reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer radical polymerization(RAFT). We first synthesized ω-brominated poly(ethylene oxide) by living anionic ring opening polymerization of ethylene oxide, followed by carrying out ATRP and RAFT polymerization of styrene for preparation of block copolymer in toluene at 110 ℃ for 24 h. Unreacted PEO-macro initiator and PEO-RAFT agent and Me6TREN, Cu(Ⅰ)Br were removed via selective precipitation in methanol. All the products were dried in vacuum oven at room temperature for at least 48 h and then characterized by 1H-NMR and size exclusion chromatographic analysis. The resulting block copolymer PEO -b- PS was used as polymeric template for arraying nano-sized zinc oxide particles. In this presentation, the preliminary results will be presented. |
