제목 Enhancement of thermoelectric properties of In-single-filled Co4Sb12-based Skutterudite by process modification
초록 In this study, the effects of the cooling rate on the microstructure and the thermoelectric properties of In-single-filled Co4Sb12-based Skutterudite were investigated. The samples with In-filled Co4Sb12 were first melted by induction melting method, and then the melted ingots were transferred to second melting step using melt-spinning technique. Herein, the cooling rate of liquid-phase was controlled by the Cu wheel rotation speed between 1000 rpm (~13m/s) and 4000 rpm (52.4 m/s) during melt-spinning process with the aim of controlling the characteristic size of nanostructure in melt-spun ribbons, which could strongly affect to the charge and phonon transport properties of the material. The melt-spun ribbons were consolidated using spark plasma sintering, and the microstructure, the temperature dependent thermoelectric properties were characterized. As a result, the ZT values of the bulk samples prepared from 1000-4000 rpm had no significant change at low temperature, a pronounced change in ZT value is observed at high temperature, which reached a maximum of 1.35 at 763K for the sample prepared from the 2000 rpm melt-spun ribbons.
