N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone(NVP) was copolymerized with N-(4-carboxyphenyl)maleimide (X-Ph-MI) under UV irradiation in the presence of N,N'-methylene-bisacrylamide (MBAAm) as a crosslinking agent to prepare the pH sensitive hydrogels.Thephotocuring was initiated without the conventional photoinitiatorby a radical which is formed through donor/acceptor interaction between the NVP and maleimide(MI). Photocuring process was characterized by photoDSC and real-time FT-IR. The prepared hydrogel was found to be highly pH sensitive. |
