A highly efficient light-scattering layer composed of a quasi-periodic array of discrete silica nanoparticles directly deposited on polymer substrates for the enhanced light absorption of bendable organic solar cells (OSCs) is reported. The silica nanoparticle layer (SNL) self-assembled onto a highly lexible and heat-sensitive polymer at room temperature using chemical vapour deposition without the application of conventional solution-based nanoparticle coating or artificial nano-patterning techniques. The SNL was optimized with precisely controlled dimensional parameters, nanoparticle layer thickness and interparticle distance, and exhibited an improved transmission haze, diffusive transmission to total transmission, of 16.8% in the spectral range of 350−700 nm when the reduction of the total transmission was suppressed within 2%. |
