Urushiol is a major component of Chinese lacquer from Lacquer tree. Mono-molecule contains catechol group and long alkyl chain tends to high adhesion and a few toxicity causing allergic skin. However polymerized Urushiol (PU) loses toxicity and maintains their mechanical advantages. In this study, we report Urushiol based bio-stable thin film prepared from Layer-by-Layer(LbL) assembly well developed versatile nano film preparation method. Nano films were prepared by sequential adsorption of Branched Polyethylene Imine(BPEI) and Urushiol through hydrogen bonding. Then we polymerized solid Urushiol via UV irradiation process and analyzed. In addition, we performed bio-stability of the film in model physiological condition (PBS solution) and biocompatibility by cytotoxicity test. In conclusion, we successfully fabricated bio-stable PU based nano film. It is anticipated that Urushiol would be utilize for maintaining the mechanical stability of thin films in physiological condition. |
