제목 | Modeling and prediction of polymer properties for HDPE slurry process with Ziegler-Natta catalysts |
초록 | Due to the increasing market demands for various products, reduction in the product cycle time and the strict quality requirement from end users, polyolefin industries are trying to enhance the productivity through reducing off-spec. product during grade transition and to maintain the polymer properties steadily within the period for a grade. But in reality there remain some possibilities to have the deviation of polymer properties which may result in the reduction of production rate and claim/complaint from end users because of manual operation and long analysis time. So we developed an on-line monitoring system of polymer properties which is called virtual on-line analyzer (VOA) system in this study. Applying the VOA system to a HDPE process, the amount of off-spec. product can be reduced during grade transition and the polymer properties can be maintained steadily at the specific operating conditions. The proposed VOA system will be used in the model predictive control (MPC) system for the HDPE process. |
