Effect of Ni-P Plating Thickness on Exothermic and Electrical Properties of PAN-based Carbon Fibers |

In this study, Ni-P plating PAN-based carbon fibers were prepared by the electroless plating on carbon fibers in order to improve exothermic properties and electric conductivity of the carbon fibers. The effect of Ni-P plating thickness on the exothermic properties and electric conductivity of the fibers studied. Surface and structural properties of the carbon fibers were determined by was scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The amount of Ni-P plating on the carbon fibers was measured by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). And the electric conductivity of the carbon fibers was measured by 4-probe method. |
