제목 PCL microsphere-based scaffolds which contain alendronate for bone disease treatment
초록 As the elderly population is rapidly growing, bone diseases such as osteoporosis are continuously increasing. Hence, biomaterials for the restoration of damaged tissues are urgently demanded. In this study, we investigated Poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) scaffold as drug delivery carrier for the bone disease treatment. The scaffold was prepared using PCL microspheres which contain alendronate. The physicochemical property and biological function of the scaffold were analyzed. Cytotoxicity of the scaffold was examined using cell proliferation and differentiation. Our result demonstrated that the drug incorporation is strongly promoted osteoblast responses, including proliferation and differentiation. Our drug-carrying scaffold can be a potential candidate for the repair of bone damage.
