Aluminum hydroxide (ATH)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composites are employed to the various applications as an artificial marble. Various kinds of waste composites were produced during the manufacturing of composites. Proper recycle of these waste composites is needed urgently. The fine powders of waste composite were recycled in the manufacturing of artificial marbles to reduce the waste of resources and the environmental pollution. The effect of recycled powders on the mechanical strength, thermal properties, chemical resistance, and hardening characteristics of ATH/PMMA composite was studied depending on the various composition of PMMA/MMA. |
