Morphology and electrical properties of PA/PPA/PPO/Multiwalled carbon nanotube nanocomposites |

Polyamide(PA)/polyphenyleneoxide(PPO) blend has been applied in various automobile applications, such as an electro-deposition paintable fender, etc. It demands high electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. In recent years, MWCNT having good electrical and mechanical properties has been used as a conductive filler in the nanocomposite materials. Dispersion state of CNT in polymer/CNT nanocomposites is an important factor in enhancing electrical and mechanical properties. In this study, PA/PPA/PPO/CNT nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing using a twin screw extruder by master batch method. Mechanical properties and electrical conductivity were measured by UTM and digital multimeter, respectively. Phase behavior was observed by SEM and TEM. |
