Morphology and physical properties of PA/PPA/PPO/SEBS/Multiwalled carbon nanotube nanocomposites. |

Recently, polymer blends has been used for automobile parts due to their light weight and impact strength. Polyamide(PA) and polyphthalicamide(PPA) have good mechanical properties. Impact strength was enhanced by styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene(SEBS). Modified PPO(M-PPO) as a compatibilizer was used for advanced compatibility. In this study, PA/PPA/PPO/M-PPO/SEBS/MWCNT blends were prepared by melt mixing in a twin-screw extruder. Electrical resistivity and mechanical property of PA/PPA/PPO/M-PPO/SEBS/MWCNT nanocomposites were measured by resistance tester and universal testing machine(UTM), respectively. Fracture plane was investigated by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Thermal property was measured using differential scanning calorimeter(DSC). As a result, mechanical, electrical properties of nanocomposites including PPO and M-PPO were better than those of nanocomposites containing M-PPO. |
