제목 | Applications of Silica-Cages: Shape-Persistent Replica Synthesis of Bimetals and Functional Armor for Sensory pi-Materials |
초록 | Silica has been studied a long time for the use in various fields; catalysts, drug-delivery systems, and bio-engineering, due to the chemical/mechanical stability and structural property. Especially, extremely large number of micro- and nano-pores on silica allows various small materials, such as ions and small molecules, to diffuse through silica. The materials that diffuse to the silica can react with the contents of the core. In this study, we devise applications of silica-cages in which particle synthesis generates a replica particle and functionalization of sensory pi-materials. Using tailored silica-cage, we can vary the shape of replicated nanoparticles through initial choice of shape of the starting particles.[1] In addition, we observed that silica-armor layer on the surface of sensory pi-materials caused new-functions.[2] As these results, applications of silica-cage can be expanded to various fields.
