Orthophosphate have been chosen as a P surrogate as they are the major portion of the total P found in wastewater. The characteristics of phosphate adsorption onto mesoporous aluminum (Me-Al), microporous aluminum (Mi-Al) were investigates to estimate the adsorption isotherms, the rate of adsorption, and the selectivity of adsorption. Adsorption kinetic experiments performed with a pH of 6.0-7.0 and an initial phosphorus, P, concentration of 10 ppm. It demonstrated that orthophosphate adsorption capcities of Me-Al and Mi-Al were different, the amount P adsorbed onto Me-Al and Mi-Al was about 8.383 mg/g and 5.171 mg/g. |
