2-(Azidomethyl)-2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine (EDOT-Me-N3) was synthesized by “click chemistry”. The EDOT-Me-N3 underwent polymerization successfully, resulting in conductive PEDOT-Me-azide film by both electrochemical and vapor phase polymerization methods. Micro scale photo patterns were generated by simple UV exposure onto PEDOT-Me-azide film through a photomask. The electrical and optical properties of the PEDOT-Me-azide films were examined by cyclic voltammetry, UV and FT-IR spectroscopy, to confirm that the photo-patterning is mainly originated from the photo cross-linking of azide functional group. The conductivity of the PEDOT-Me-azide film was decreased 100 times after photo-cross linking to ensure direct patterning of electric circuit for organic devices. |
