The photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photochemical internalization (PCI) strategy have been employed in medical fields. The PCI is strategy that causes endo/lysosomal disruption through reactive oxygen species (ROS) and triggers drug release. Even though PCI improves the efficacy of drug, PCI has limitation to localize encapsulated drugs into the target site. To overcome this limitation, we developed ROS generable nanocarriers (RGNs) that consist of polysaccharide conjugated PS and ROS scavenger. ROS scavenger have disulfide bond which opened through light irradiation. Under irradiation, RGNs produce ROS that simultaneously trigger drug release and endo/lysosomal escape of drug into cytoplasm also PDT for efficient chemo‐photodynamic cancer therapy. This new type of photomediated delivery system would provide a valuable approach to progress smart nanoplatform in the drug delivery system. |
