제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Sulfonated Poly(arylene ether sulfone) Copolymer Containing Chalcone Moiety in Main Chain for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells
초록 Novel photoreactive sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (S-PAES) copolymer was synthesized from the photosensitive decafluorochalcone, bisphenol A, and sulfonated sulfone dihalide. A new concept to improve the properties of proton-exchange polymer membrane was suggested in this study by introducing a photosensitive chalcone unit to polymer main chain. Upon UV irradiation, the photosensitive chalcone moieties in the polymer main chain can undergo photodimerization, which is supposed to improve the mechanical and thermal properties of proton-exchange membrane. The S-PAESs were characterized by 1H-NMR and FT-IR spectra, and photoinduced dimerization of SPAES film upon UV exposure was studied by UV-vis spectroscopic method. Thermal and mechanical properties of the S-PAES were investigated as well as other fundamental properties for the proton-exchange polymer membrane such as water uptake and ionic conductivity with respect to the copolymer compositions and the irradiation of UV light.
