제목 Electrocatalytic Activities of Platinum Nanoaprticles on Graphene Sheets for Fuel Cell Applications
초록 The electrocatalysis of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on graphene supported nanosized Pt electrocatalysts was studied in 0.1 M KOH by cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode system. The onset potential for oxygen reduction at Pt/graphene was shifted to lower potentials and showed improved specific activity towards the ORR compared with 4-mercaptobenzoyl functionalized graphene catalysts. Although loading weight of Pt onto graphene sheet was 7.2 wt%, the catalytic activity of Pt/graphene catalyst is similar with commercial Pt/C catalyst (20 wt% Pt). The morphologies of the resultant composites were studied by TEM and SEM. After the accelerated degradation test (100 cycles of -1 V to 0.2 V), the average Pt particle size in a graphene supported catalyst remained 3nm. The unique structure of graphene improved electrode durability by strengthening the interaction between the Pt particles and the graphene support.
