Comparison of Decohesion Kinetics between All-PSCs and PCBM-PSCs : Excellent Fracture Energy of All-PSCs |

Organic Solar Cells (OSCs) have attracted much attention due to their some advantages, however, the vulnerable device stability still remains a great challenge. Especially, the mechanical properties of OSCs play a important key role in making process and operation at real condition. In this work, we used double-cantilever beam (DCB) testing method to investigate differences of mechanical properties of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) between PCBM based solar cells (PCBM-PSCs). Significantly enhanced mechanical robustness was obtained from all-PSCs active layer compared than that of PCBM-PSCs with 6 and 20-fold improvements in fracture energy and elongation at break, because polymer acceptor are not only more ductile than PCBM molecules but also are entangled in active layer. We highlight this works is the first report on decohesion kinetics of all-PSCs and verify that all-PSCs is one of the great potential route for mechanical resilience and improving lifetime of devices. |
