Hydrophilic to stable superhydrophobic organic-inorganic hybrids have been prepared by sol-gel technique in two step process. First, fluorinated polymethylhydrosiloxane (FPMHS) was synthesized by the reaction of PMHS with HFBMA using Pt catalyst. Next, FPMS/Silica hybrids have been prepared by the reaction of the precursor and TEOS with equivalent water and ethanol at 70-80 °C for 24 hours. The dispersed hybrids were spin coated on glass substrates and baked at 80 °C. The solvent was removed at 80 °C and grind into fine powder. The functional groups, chemical structures and compositions, surface morphology of the hybrids were analyzed by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 29Si MAS-NMR, XPS and SEM-EDAX. The contact angles of the prepared powders were measured by drop shape analysis system. The prepared hybrids thin films have exhibited good transparency and powders have hydrophilic to stable superhydrophobic nature by the increase of ethanol amounts. |
