Fabrication of Honeycomb Structured Porous Films from Arborescent Polystyrenes via the Breath Figures Method |
초록 |
Highly ordered hexagonal arrays of micro-pores formed in the film cast from arborescent PS. The results showed that increasing Mw of arborescent polymers either by increasing G or the side chain Mw, leads to the size increase of the pores during BF process. Arborescent PS with a shorter side chains (5K) have tendency to form multilayers of pores while polymers with a longer side chains (30K) form less ordered large underneath cell structures below the highly ordered smaller open pores in the concentration range (0.5–2%). The composite films cast from arborescent PS/MWNTs complex solutions in CS2 under a flow of water showed the honeycomb structures pores. During the BF process, CNTs are believed to move to the bottom of films where no pore was observed. The result indicates that BF films cast from PS/MWNTs complex solutions in CS2 showed a unique morphology of PS rich honeycombed pore region and CNT rich nonporous bottom region due to the phase separation. |
