With increasing interest on textile-based wearable electronic devices, there exists a critical need for the development of stretchable and elastic conductors directly patternable on a fabric. In this work, we report a stretchable conductive polymer composite ink non-wettable into a fabric. Although water dispersed PEDOT:PSS have been successfully used in cutaneous applications with biocompatibility, rheological properties need to be modified for direct integration with textile. We found that PEDOT:PSS composite with graphene oxide (GO) and anionic polyurethane (APU), referred as PGaPU, did not absorbed on the water absorable fabric, which allowed direct patterning of PEDOT:PSS electrode on the fabric. Phase separation behavior of the composite ink by varying the mixing ratios and electrical properties of the composite films were studied. The stretchable PGaPU electrode patterned on a fabric was still conductive without being removed even when washed with water and detergent. |
