제목 Poly(ethylene oxide) / Sodium Alginate Hydrogel Film Co-crosslinked by Electron Beam Irradiation for an Anti-Adhesion Barrier
초록 The cross-linked poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)/ sodium alginate (SA) hydrogels were developed for possible biomedical applications such as an anti-adhesion barrier. 5 percentage of PEO/SA solution was freeze-dried in Teflon plate to eliminate the possible unidirectional tension during the peeling-off process after drying process. The freeze-dried sponge of PEO/SA was then compressed into 0.1 mm porous film using a hot press machine at 60 oC. The film containing 10 wt-% of SA was crosslinked using an electron beam with a beam dose of 250 KGy. The physical properties of crosslinked PEO/SA and crosslinked PEO film were analyzed using a universal tensile test machine, SEM, FT-IR, DSC and TGA. The anti-adhesive properties of the crosslinked PEO/SA film was finally analyzed using an in-vivo rat model. In animal studies, 10 wt-% SA/PEO anti-adhesion hydrogel film degraded within 3 weeks and demonstrated better anti-adhesive effect compared to Guardix-SG®.
