We synthesized single-walled aluminosilicate nanotubes that a structure is analogous to the naturally occurring nanotube mineral imogolite. And the inner surface of imogolite nanotubes was modified by tetraethyl orthocarbonate and germanium (Ⅳ) ethoxide instead of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). In addition, the outer surface of imogolite nanotubes was modified by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (3-APS). The morphology of pure-Imogolite and modified-Imogolite was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In order to characterize surface-modified imogolite, powder X-ray diffraction (powder XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and ultraviolet/visible (UVvis) spectroscopy experiments were carried out. We determined porous properties of modified-imogolite using BET methods with N2/77K adsorption isotherms. The gas storage behaviors of the pure-imogolite and modified-imogolite at 298K, 100bar were studied using high pressure apparatus. |
