Development of novel bioelectrochemical platform microbe-electrode hybrid system |
초록 |
Bioelectrochemical systems (BES) use electrochemically active biofilm on the electrode which can reduce solid extracellular electron acceptors and donor, thus can interact with electrode to regulate redox potential. Conventionally BES has been investigated in various bio- and environmental technology to produce bioelectricity and hydrogen gas from various biodegradable organic compounds, and on-line monitoring biosensor. Recently the electrochemical activity of whole cell microorganism has been introduced into electrochemical biorefinery process which produces biochemicals by controlling intracellular redox balance and metabolic pathway in anaerobic metabolism. In this report, the recent development and reports for the BES technology will be reviewed, and the research results of commodity and intermediate chemicals will be presented. |
