Ionic transport of X-DNA resistive switching memory device |

DNA has taken on various roles, not only as the central genetic molecule in biological systems but also as a generic material for nanoscale engineering. Particularly, DNA can possess exceptional properties such as molecular recognition ability and nanoscale controllability. The DNA can be used as linkers when DNA, especially in oligomer form, is interfaced with functional moieties such as inorganic nanoparticles, organic molecules, or other biomolecules. Taking these attributes, DNA material such as X shaped double strand DNA, called X-DNA, could have been created from the unique structure of DNA molecules. A device based on X-DNA could be developed and pursued as conventional metal-insulator-metal devices for electrical memory function. Memory operation was tried through identification of electrical hysteresis for various current-voltage(I-V) sweep. |
