제목 Synthesis and Nonlinear Oprical Properties of Novel Polyester Containing Nitrophenylazo Moiety
초록 In this work reported here, we prepared new polyester 3 containing nitrophenylazoresorcinoxy groups as NLO chromophores, which constitute part of the polymer main chain. We selected the latter as NLO chromophores because they constitute novel Y-type NLO polyesters, and are expected to have the merits of both main-chain and side-chain NLO polymers, namely stable dipole alignment and good solubility. Polyester 3 is soluble in common organic solvents such as acetone and DMF. It shows a thermal stability up to 250 oC from TGA thermogram with Tg value obtained from DSC thermogram near 116 oC. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficient (d33) of poled polymer film at 1060 nm fundamental wavelength is near 4.63 x 10-9 esu. Polymer 3 exhibits a thermal stability even at 4 oC higher than Tg, and no significant SHG decay is observed below 120 oC, which is acceptable for nonlinear optical device applications.
