Ruthenium doped Sr1-xYxTiO3 for Enhanced CO2-CH4 Reforming |

Yttria-doped strontium titanium oxide with trace ruthenium (Sr0.92Y0.08Ti0.98Ru0.02O3-δ; SYTRu) has been investigated for CO2-CH4 reforming(Dry reforming). Substituted ruthenium was incorporated uniformly in SYT lattice with perovskite structure, which decreased the oxygen formation energy and led the high activity of lattice oxygen. The ability of donating lattice oxygen to the catalyst is responsible for the facilitated decomposition and dissociation of CH4 and CO2, which led to high conversions, excellent syngas selectivity, and stability with little coke formation. The results illustrate that Ru-doped SYT performed better in the dry reforming reaction compared to Ru-loaded SYT, which contains similar amounts of ruthenium. |
